Frequently asked questions
I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
On the learner or instructor sign-in screen, choose Forgot password? and enter the email address used for the account. Firebase will send a reset link. Check the spam or junk folder if it does not arrive promptly.
Why does my learner invite code not work?
Invite codes are six characters, single-use and valid for 14 days. Check every character and make sure the learner is using the latest code. If it has expired or was already used, the instructor should remove the pending invite and create another.
How does an instructor assign practice?
Open the learner from the instructor’s pupil list and choose Set focus. Select the relevant topic, the number of questions and, if useful, add brief lesson context. The focus will appear on the learner’s home screen after it refreshes.
Are a learner’s observations marked right or wrong?
No. The learner records what they genuinely observed, which may include unsafe or unexpected behaviour by another road user. Passenger Mode then explains the safer interpretation and prompts reflection.
How do I remove a learner who has passed?
In the instructor pupil list, swipe left on the learner and choose Remove. Confirming this permanently revokes access and deletes the learner’s Passenger Mode account and practice data.
How can I delete my own account?
Learners can open Settings → Delete account permanently. Instructors can open Instructor settings → Delete instructor account. Instructor deletion also removes linked learner accounts and associated practice data, so read the confirmation carefully.
Can I use the app while driving?
No. Passenger Mode must only be used by a passenger. It supports observation and reflection but does not replace professional instruction, the Highway Code or the driver’s legal responsibility.
Safety note: Passenger Mode is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, move to a safe place and contact the appropriate emergency service.
